Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorship(gentle music) - [Narrator] With many of us having a digital footprint across diverse platforms, we have accumulated many passwords that we must remember.
Remembering these passwords can be challenging, especially when trying to avoid using the same password for different accounts.
Thanks to password managers, you don't have to memorize all your passwords anymore.
You only need to remember the master password that unlocks your password vault.
Password managers will typically ask you if you'd like to use an auto-generated password whenever you create a new account with a website or application.
These random passwords are long, alphanumeric and essentially impossible to guess.
For new users, the best password managers are cloud-based.
They store your encrypted passwords on the service provider's network.
There are benefits to cloud-based password managers such as 1Password and LastPass.
They allow you to access your password vault from any device as long as you have an internet connection.
There are many password manager options that can help protect your digital footprint across the many online accounts you may have.
Make sure to research any recommended password manager to ensure that you are using something that will safely manage your accounts.
