Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorship(gentle music) - [Narrator] It's always nice when you know exactly how to get to your destination.
But sometimes you don't, or you are afraid you might run into traffic on the route you usually take.
In cases like this, navigation apps like Google Maps can be a useful resource.
To get the Google Maps app on your smartphone, just go to the app store on an iPhone or the Google Play Store on an Android device, type in "Google Maps" and install the app.
When you open the app on your phone, just type in the address of your destination and tap "Start".
You can select whether you're going by foot, or by car.
If you're using the app while driving, make sure the phone is mounted properly so it's not distracting.
Ensure your volume is on to hear instructions from Google Maps during your journey.
If you'd like to know when to leave your current location to arrive at a destination by a certain time, after typing the address of your destination, tap directions.
Scroll to the bottom of the screen.
Tap "remind you to leave on time".
Tap, "arrive by" and finally select the time you would like to arrive by.
You'll see the suggested departure time above.
You can then either note the time yourself or go ahead and tap "set reminder".
If you would like Google Maps to remind you.
Next tap "start" and you can be on your way.
Google Maps may adjust your route in real time in response to changing traffic conditions.
You can either accept the suggested change or tap "no thanks".
Happy Travels.
