(upbeat instrumental music continues) - So, here at the family safety center, any resident of Nashville, Davidson County, who has been a victim of interpersonal violence, which does include elder abuse, has access to the services of this center.

(soft instrumental music starts) - We're open 24/7.

We have advocates here, 24/7 that can help in the middle of a crisis.

We are here to help.

So, the Family Safety Center was created a couple of years ago.

And it's to have a welcoming and inviting place where people who are victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, trafficking child abuse, elder abuse, can get the help that they need in a really friendly, accessible, and relaxed way.

And So, the most common form of elder abuse that we see is financial exploitation and neglect of elderly individuals, by someone that they care about, that they have a relationship with personally, a family member, a spouse, an adult child.

When you come to the Family Safety Center for help, the main thing you're going to experience is an expert there helping you.

And someone who genuinely cares and wants to hold your hand through this process and make it as easy on you as possible.

(keyboard typing) The biggest threat to your independence as a vulnerable adult, an elderly individual is the isolation.

Is the isolation from people that can help you.

So, getting the help that you need allows you to take control of your finances again.

To find avenues for transportation.

To get to where you need to go or where you want to go.

You are not alone.

There are so many people here to help you and help you live a life of community because that is what will keep you safe.

And that's what this team of people here at the Family Safety Center work towards every day.

And we'll certainly work towards when you come to us for help.
