New Jersey Parental Rights group is among those fighting proposed legislation
People who don’t identify with their birth names or legal names could have the option of having their preferred name on their diplomas. The Assembly Higher Education Committee recently approved legislation that would make it easier for students in all public and private schools to choose which name is displayed on records.
